General Description:
1. Directs and coordinates activities of workers on a construction or maintenance project, applying knowledge of machines, tools, equipment, specifications, plant layout, etc.
2. Tests and inspects metal products, coatings and civil foundations at various stages of the production process and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products.
Essential Functions:
1) Must have understanding of and ability to utilize
a) API & ASME codes, Pala-Interstate quality control manual, company safety procedures and customer specifications.
b) Proficient in generating and checking PQR, WPQ & WPS.
c) Understanding of API &AWS codes.
d) Understanding of NACE standard.
e) Understanding of Concrete Field Testing, ACI.
2) Represents the Company at client meetings concerning Quality.
3) Reads and interprets schematic drawings or specifications and confers with appropriate staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
4) Selects various metal products for testing at specified stages in production, and tests products for various qualities such as dimensions, tolerances, mechanical, electrical or chemical characteristics.
5) Records test data applying statistical quality control procedures.
6) Evaluates data and prepares written reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards. (Including but not limited to; Turnover Letters and Packages, Hydro Test Packages and Non-Destructive Testing.
7) Recommends modifications to achieve optimum quality within equipment capacity.
8) Utilizes computer to input data as necessary.
Qualification Standards:
1. API 653, CWI a plus.
2. Seven years of experience.
3. Valid Drivers License and be insurable.
4. Pass drug screen.
5. Background check to enter certain client facilities

Manufacturing Engineer - Laboratory Specialist

This position is for a laboratory specialist within the Rolls Royce Crosspointe Disc Manufacturing Engineering team. This is a very exciting opportunity that will give the right candidate a wealth experience across a wide range of manufacturing engineering activities within a globally renowned company.

The role will cover a number of special processes including chemical etching, paint, cleaning, and peening and the individual within the role will have technical responsibility for these processes and will provide the technical guidance and support as required. They will be required to ensure suitable process controls are established so that the processes are stable and centred within spec limits. They will also be responsible for ensuring all processes are NADCAP/NUCAP approved and for maintaining this approval through annual NADCAP/NUCAP audits.

Crosspointe Disc is a new Rolls Royce disc facility that is currently in the final phase of construction in Prince George VA. Manufacture of parts will commence in Q1 2011 in the 1st of 3 dedicated cells that will be established over the next two years. Over the next 3 years the facility will take manufacturing responsibility for 6 key Rolls Royce volume disc components that will be transferred from the UK. The Crosspointe Manufacturing Engineering team have a critical role to play in the success of this project and will be involved in a broad range of tasks including the acquisition and commissioning of equipment, the transfer and validation of the method of manufacture for parts currently manufactured in the UK and establishing and maintaining rate manufacture of all products within the facility whilst delivering continuous quality improvement and cost reduction.


Required:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Materials Science is required
• Experience of providing technical laboratory support to aerospace manufacturing operations
• Experience in supporting NADCAP/NUCAP audits for special processes
• Experience in micro-structural examination specific to Titanium and Nickel alloys
• Methodical, logical approach to problem solving and good attention to detail
• Ability to communicate effectively upwards and downwards within the organization and to train others.
• Good team play with collaborative attitude and a flexible approach and a strong drive for results.
• Desire to learn new skills and widen knowledge base

Preferred:
• Experience of chemical etching, painting, cleaning, washing or peening operations
• Experience in FPI NDT
• Experience in micro structural assessment of metal samples and of assessment and processing of non conformance related to any of the above process
• Six Sigma Green or Black Belt accreditation.
• Knowledge and understanding of the use process control and problem investigation tools (PFMEAs, control plans, RCA, 7 step, 5 whys e.t.c)
• Understanding of SPC and the role co-ordinate metrology has within SPC

UT (Ultrasonic Testing) Shearwave Technicians for West Coast

Pipeline equipment and inspection services leader for both onshore and offshore applications.

Performs nondestructive testing at various pipelines throughout the United States. Must be II in UT, MT and PT. Shearwave or Phased Array experience a must.

Utilizes NDT and GPS equipment to execute defect location and assessment tasks to support pipeline integrity inspection services. Assisting and providing support with the maintenance of NDT, GPS, pipeline cleaning, and tracking equipment.

Completes service and daily reports as required for the tasks executed. Maintains NDT experience time log to support certification requirements. Maintains weekly expense and time-sheet reports and submits in a timely manner.

High school graduate or equivalent.
Must have valid drivers’ license.
Working knowledge of PC computer and/or electronic testing equipment use.
